PSA: It’s Time to Start Planning Your Company’s Holiday Party

I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's true.

Summer officially comes to an end this week (even though PSL drinkers declared summer over on September 1st) and with that comes the end of Q3 and the beginning of the last quarter of the year. As we look ahead to closing out the year, the time to begin planning a successful holiday party is now. The burden of planning and executing can feel overwhelming if it’s left to the last minute; options become limited and costs increase. This is your sign to get ahead of the chaos instead.

Pandemic and remote work have changed the landscape of corporate events in a significant way. Lockdowns, capacity limits and physical location of employees have forced us to dive into different styles and types of celebrations. One thing, however, remains: Your employees' need to spend time with each other outside of their work specific functions. Whether your firm is remote, hybrid or in person, it is crucial to invest in the socialization of employees and prioritize opportunities for employees to build relationships with each other.

We cannot stress this enough- having a best friend at work is the leading predictor of retention. If you are not creating opportunities for these bonds to form, they will not happen on their own. Our number one tool to drive employee connections is hosting events. When employees are given the freedom to be themselves and be social with each other, their stake in the organization gets a little bit deeper each time.

Over the next few weeks, we will be covering the different types of corporate events along with some tips to throw the best bash for your firm.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

In-person party: The classic

  • Types of in-person parties

  • Venue considerations

  • Invitation etiquette

  • Event behavior policies

Virtual Party: The new normal

  • Types of virtual parties

  • Activity ideas

  • Tangible goods

  • Scheduling

Corporate Retreats: Business + Pleasure

  • Planning checklist

  • Location scouting

  • Travel considerations

  • Morale boost for the employees not attending

Strategy Meetings: All business

  • How and how often

  • Why they are important

  • Attendees

Company events are much more than just a chance for employees to gather. They can help promote interaction, boost morale and create a better, more focused team. Internal events are crucial to the corporate culture of an organization and they perpetuate the employer’s brand to their employees. The benefits don’t stop there. Hosting events for employees is directly linked with overall higher employee satisfaction and retention.

Putting together a successful event is no easy feat, but absolutely worth it! If the idea of planning and hosting your upcoming event feels overwhelming, we’re here to help. Whether it's providing you with the tools to plan your own event or letting us take care of all the heavy lifting instead, we're ready to jump in. Let’s get in touch!
